Four habits that double your retention.
Your retention depends more on what happens between appointments than what happens during them. Four small habits make the difference between two-week fills and four-week fills.
First 48 hours
No water, steam, or oil-based products on the lash line. Adhesive cures fully in the first 24 hours; protecting it then is what locks in retention later.
Daily cleansing
A foam lash cleanser every night, gentle brush from base to tip. Buildup of skincare oils and mascara residue is the #1 retention killer.
Sleep position
Back or side sleeping. Face-down friction halves the lifespan of a set — switch to a silk pillowcase if changing sides isn't realistic.
Skincare to skip
Anything oil-based around the eye: cleansing balms, retinol oils, makeup remover wipes. They dissolve adhesive over time. Water-based and oil-free formulas are extension-safe.

What clients ask before their first set.
Two to two-and-a-half hours. You're lying down with your eyes closed the whole time — most clients fall asleep, which is welcome.
Two to three weeks for most people. We calibrate based on how your lashes shed, what cleanser you use, and whether you sleep face-down.
Probably yes, but we patch-test first. There are several adhesive formulations and we find the one your eyes don't react to before booking a full set.
Skip it. Extensions already give you the mascara look, and removing mascara from extensions is what damages them. If you want extra punch, we can add a few extra fans to the outer corners.
On your back or your side, ideally on a silk pillowcase. Face-down friction is the fastest way to halve the lifespan of a set.
No, when applied correctly. Each extension is sized lighter than the natural lash that holds it, and your natural lashes shed and regrow on their normal cycle. Damage usually traces to extensions that were too heavy or removed by the client at home.
